Montana State Billings Yellowjackets

PORTLAND, Ore. — Making 13 stops in 186 minutes, Montana State Billings goal keeper Javier Hernandez was selected the Great Northwest Athletic Conference defensive player of the week.

Hernandez, a freshman from Pittsburg, California, was making his collegiate debut for the Yellowjackets.

Hernandez had eight saves on 10 shots on goal in a 2-1 loss to Westminster College. Westminster had a total of 28 shots.

Hernandez followed with five saves in an overtime loss to Dixie State.

MSUB plays its first home matches this weekend, taking on Cal Poly Pomona and Cal State San Bernardino at the Fourth Annual Rimrock Classic in honor of Trevor Wildberger.
