BOZEMAN -- Freshman Courtney Henry of Montana State Billings set a school record for the women's javelin on Saturday at the Montana State Invitational.
Henry, of Malta, had a throw of 119-feet, 9-inches. The previous record was 118-9 by Delaware Steingruber in 2012. Henry, who redshirted with the Yellowjackets women's basketball team this past season, ranks 11th in the conference.
Along with Henry's record, MSUB track and field athletes hit two automatic Great Northwest Athletic Conference qualifying marks and eight provisional marks.
Robert Peterson qualified in the 1,500 meters with a time of 3:59.85, while Corrie Holm qualified in the women's discus. She had a throw of 41.32 meters.
The men's team had five provisional qualifiers: Jamon Rodrigues, 10,000 meters, 33:10.07; Cole Campbell, pole vault, 4.25 meters; Anthony Montanez, shot put, 14.89 meters; Lewis Polkow, 400 hurdles, 56.18; Nathan Vanderby, 400 meters, 49.81.
The women had three provisional qualifiers: Jinise Osborne, 10,000 meters, 40:19.88; Mary Owen, 10,000 meters, 41:12.95; Renae Hepfner, 5,000 meters, 18:57.16.
