PORTLAND, Ore. -- Returning the most starters among league teams, the Montana State Billings women's soccer team was picked to finish tied for fifth in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference pre-season coach's poll.

Western Washington, ranked No. 3 in the nation, was selected to repeat as GNAC champions. The Vikings finished 20-2-1 last year, reaching the NCAA Division II semifinals. WWU eturns 13 letter winners, including GNAC defensive player of the year Brianna Jones.

The Yellowjackets were 6-8-2 overall and 5-8-1 in the GNAC. MSUB returns 10 starters and 14 letter winners, led by second-team selection Chelsea Shuman, a senior midfielder from Kalispell. The Yellowjackets won four of their six games by shut outs.
