MISSOULA — Sam Zook was a double winner and a handful of records were set by the Montana State Billings track and field program at the Missoula Open this past weekend.
Zook won the 100 meters in 10.73 and followed with a win in the 200 meters in 21.75. His 200 time leads the Great Northwest Athletic Conference.
Zook anchored MSUB's 400 relay team that ran a school record time of 41.37, the best in the GNAC. He was joined in the relay by Mason Schram, Lamont Frisby and Kaelen Shay.
Michaela Johnson bettered her own school record in the 100 hurdles (14.61), while Jorey Egeland ran a program-record time of 14:48.78 in the five kilometers.
Nels Flanagan broke his own record in the hammer throw with a toss of 174-feet, 4-inches.
Carson Jessop and Nikki Aiken each won the 3,000-meter steeplechase for men and women. Jessop won the men's race in 10:11.36, while Aiken won the women's in 11:38.54.
MSUB had 16 top-three finishes at Missoula.
The Yellowjackets will compete at the Blue Hawk Games this Friday in Dickinson, North Dakota.
