BURNABY, British Columbia, Canada — Montana State Billings opened the GNAC season by belting five home runs in the first game against Simon Fraser, earning a split on Saturday.

The power outburst ties a school record for home runs in a game. 

The Yellowjackets won the first game 10-0, with SFU taking the second 7-5.

Megan Dettling hit two solo home runs in the opener, while Kelsee Bushnell hit a grand slam in the sixth inning for MSUB. Heather Tracy also added a two-run home run.

The teams split again on Sunday. Simon Fraser won the first game 9-8 in nine innings on a walk-off RBI single by Hailey Geary.

Dettling had a three-run home run in the second game to help winning pitcher Haley Couch.
