BILLINGS — Montana State University Billings right fielder Heather Tracy was named the Great Northwest Athletic Conference softball player of the week and Maddy Lincoln earned the conference's pitcher of the week award on Monday.
The Yellowjackets achieved the best start in program history, 4-1, at the Desert Stinger in Las Vegas over the weekend. Both players were placed on the all-tournament team, along with teammate Megan Dettling.
Lincoln finished the tourney with a 3-1 record and 1.29 ERA in five appearances. In her first outing of the year, the sophomore went the distance with five scoreless innings of one-hit softball in a 14-0 triumph over Mary. Tracy had a league-best 11 hits and scored 11 runs. In the fourth game of the tourney, she slammed three homers in an 8-5 win over Colorado Christian.
