Montana State Billings Yellowjackets

LACEY, Wash. — Alisha Breen scored the final five points to help Montana State Billings defeat Saint Martin's 58-56 Saturday in Great Northwest Athletic Conference women's basketball.

The win helped the Yellowjackets (10-4, 3-1) stop a four-game losing streak. MSUB returns to Alterowitz Gymnasium this week for games against Alaska on Thursday and No. 6-ranked Alaska Anchorage on Saturday.

Breen, a senior forward from Choteau, finished with a double-double of 19 points and 17 rebounds. The 17 rebounds matches her career-high.

She made two free throws then added a layup to give MSUB a 57-56 lead.

Sania Simpson-Patu of Saint Martin's missed a shot but it was rebounded by teammate Elin Johansson. But MSUB came up with a steal after a time out.

Breen added a single free throw with five seconds remaining.

The Saints missed a shot at the buzzer.

Senior Vanessa Stavish added 12 points for the Yellowjackets.

Elin Johansson led Saint Martin's with 16 points, while Makenna Schultz added 15.
