A five-run second inning carried the Montana State Billings baseball team to a 9-4 win over Western Oregon and helped the Yellowjackets earn a split with the Great Northwest Athletic Conference leaders on Saturday.

The Wolves (23-15, 16-8) took advantage of eight Yellowjacket errors in the second game for an 11-8 win.

Bret Bitow, Brody Miller, Kevin Toon and Blake Loran each had two RBIs in the opener at Dehler Park. It was enough to help starting pitcher Drew Christina earn his first win of the season.

The Wolves scored seven runs to start the second game.

MSUB's Luke Reinschmidt had a bases-clearing triple for three RBIs in the second inning. Reinschmidt, Loran and Casey Merritt had two hits apiece.

MSUB (10-22, 7-11) hosts Saint Martin's this Friday and Saturday in GNAC doubleheaders.
