Montana State University Billings baseball coach Rob Bishop has announced the signing of Tyger Liner and Morris Clay for the 2014-15 season.

Liner joins MSUB from Corvallis (Ore.) High School, where he was a three-year varsity player. The catcher batted .359 with eight doubles, one home run and 16 RBIs his senior season.

“Tyger is a first team all-state selection as a catcher in a very good high school program in Oregon,” Bishop said. “He is a great defender and very athletic kid overall. He is another high achiever academically that will be a perfect fit at MSUB. We are looking forward to watching him develop in our program.”

Morris is a transfer from Walla Walla Community College and originally from Richland, Wash. He played both shortstop and catcher in high school. He was named to the all-atate team in 2010 and 2011 as an infielder and in 2012 as a catcher.

“Corey was the gold glove winner at shortstop in a very good community college league,” Bishop said. “His experience and competitiveness are exactly what we need in the infield. He is also a great student that comes to us ready to succeed academically as well.”
