PORTLAND, Ore. — Living up to the preseason hype, Alisha Breen of Montana State Billings was selected the Great Northwest Athletic Conference player of the year.
She is the second Yellowjacket to earn the honor, joining Bobbi Knudsen who was chosen for the 2013-14 season.
Rylee Kane earned honorable mention all-GNAC honors for MSUB this season.
Breen, a senior from Choteau, is averaging a GNAC-best 20.8 points and 9.4 rebounds game. She has scored in double figures in every game this season for the Yellowjackets.
Breen was also selected the GNAC Preseason Player of the Year by the league's coaches to start the season.
She is also the GNAC career leader for free throws made (524) and attempted (644) and her 1,835 career points ranks her second in MSUB history.
Kane, a senior from Red Lodge, averaged 12.9 points and five assists a game this season. She has 118 consecutive starts, never missing a game in four years. She ranks second MSUB history with 533 assists.
