After hitting two walk-off singles to give Montana State Billings two victories, Brad Birch has been selected the Great Northwest Athletic Conference baseball player of the week.

Birch, a senior from Eugene, Ore., had a two-out game-winning single in a 3-2 win over Northwest Nazarene and closed his collegiate career with a game-winning hit for a 6-5 Yellowjacket win in the second game.

In six games against the Crusaders, Birch went 11 for 25 with two doubles, a triple and four RBIs. He had 15 total bases and score four runs with an on-base percentage of .481 and slugging percentage of .600.

Birch hit .290 this season with 49 hits and 33 RBIs. His 13 doubles tie him for fourth-best all-time for a single season and ranks sixth all-time for career doubles. He also finished among the career top 10 forRBIs and home runs.
