ELLENSBURG, Wash. — Samantha Jo Everett slugged a three-run homer in the fifth inning to power Montana State Billings past Central Washington 5-2 in the first game of a GNAC women's softball doubleheader Sunday.

Everett's drive brought home pinch runners Jessyka MacDonald and Caryn Perrigo. MacDonald picked up the win, pitching seven innings and allowing four hits, two earned runs and three walks. She fanned six.

In the second game, Brittney Sanders finished 3-4 for the Jackets (7-10, 2-6), but Central Washington (13-6, 6-2) prevailed 10-7 behind 17 hits. Sanders stroked both a homer and double for MSUB and finished with three RBIs and one run in the contest.

Everett was 3-3 in the second game with an RBI. Teammate Aubrey Conceicao batted 2-4 and drove in two.
