Lew Kosich, the Montana State Billings men's and women's tennis coach, announced his retirement.

The retirement will be effective July 1.

Kosich, a 1964 Billings Senior graduate and former Navy fighter pilot, led the MSUB programs for four seasons.

His men's teams were 24-39, while the women were 12-54.

In 2011, Kosich guided the MSUB men's team to its only NCAA Division II tournament berth where the Yellowjackets lost to Nebrask-Kearney 5-4 in the Central Region final.

"We would like to thank coach Kosich for leading our tennis program the past four years," said MSUB athletic director Krista Montague. "We applaud his leadership and service to MSU Billings and his contributions to the community are greatly appreciated. We wish him all the best and a very happy retirement."

The MSUB athletic department will hold a retirement party for coach Kosich on June 30 at 2 p.m. in the PE Building lobby.
