Western Oregon swept Montana State Billings 8-3 and 6-4 on Friday in a GNAC baseball doubleheader at Dehler Park.

The Wolves (22-14, 15-7) jumped ahead 6-0 in the first game. Western Oregon used a four-run seventh inning outburst to escape with another win in the second contest.

MSUB fell to 6-10 in league and 9-21 overall.

The Yellowjackets led 4-2 after five innings in Game 2 before the Wolves rallied in the top of the seventh.

Nathan Etheridge hit a two-run homer in the second inning, doubled in the sixth and added a two-run double in the seventh.

Matt Eames pitched well for MSUB, allowing two runs on six hits in six innings of work. He struck out two batters.

Bret Bitow and Luke Reinschmidt had two hits apiece for MSUB. Reinschmidt stroked a double in the fifth inning, while Casey Merritt delivered a two-run single in the second.

Western Oregon used a five-run fourth inning to take Game 1. Bitow homered for MSUB.

The Yellowjackets and Wolves will play another doubleheader on Saturday beginning at noon.
