A junior college transfer and two high school players from Arizona have signed letters of intent to play for the Montana State Billings softball program next season.
Joining the Yellowjackets are catcher Haley Rowe of Great Falls, along with third baseman Taylor Doran and first baseman Cameron Cassinelli of Arizona. Doran is from Chandler and Cassinelli is from San Tan Valley.
Rowe, a gradute of Great Falls CMR, transfers for MSUB after playing for Williston State College in North Dakota. He batted .486 last season with a .760 slugging percentage. She had 71 hits and 60 RBIs.
Rowe earned all-region and all-conference honors for the Tetons.
"Haley is solid behind the plate with her blocking skills and the strength of her arm," said MSUB coach Lisa Allen. "She also has good power at the plate. We look forward to adding some experience into our roster."
Doran hit .565 with 15 home runs and 61 RBIs this spring. A two-time MVP, she helped Hamilton High School win the state title in 2012 and was the tournament MVP.
"Taylor is a quick moving, hard throwing third baseman," said Allen. "She will be a lot of power t our lineup with her bat. She has a great swing and good work ethic. We look forward to her stepping into a power hitting role."
Cassinelli was a four-year letter winner for Poston Butte High School with a career .448 batting average. She holds school single-season records for doubles, triples, home runs and RBIs.
"Cameron is a lefty-lefty first baseman with good digging capabilities and a strong bat," said Allen. "Cameron and Taylor play on the same summer team and it will be great to have two corners who have been working together for such a long time on our infield."
