Christian Evans of Bigfork signed to play men's basketball at Montana State University Billings.

MSUB coach Jamie Stevens announced the signing Monday. Evans is the first high school player to sign with MSUB. The Jackets first two recruits were from the junior college ranks.

"I chose MSUB because it is in state and fairly close to home," Evans said. "I believe the MSUB basketball program will help me grow as a player as well. I really like the players I will be playing with and I feel really comfortable with the coaching staff. They will push me to become a better player."

Evans is a 6-foot-6 forward that averaged 18 points, nine rebounds and five blocks. In the State B title game, Evans scored 17 points, eight of those coming in the fourth quarter, in Bigfork's 71-62 triumph over Columbus.

As a junior and senior, Evans earned all-state honors. Evans has also been selected to play in this June's Midland Roundtable Montana-Wyoming All-Star basketball series.
