COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Wyoming women's basketball coach Joe Legerski was honored Monday as the Mountain West Coach of the Year.

In addition to Legerski's honor, three members of the Cowgirls were recognized in Liv Roberts, Marta Gomez and Taylor Rusk.

Roberts was named to the All-MW and All-Defensive teams for the first time in her career, while Gomez was selected the Sixth Player of the Year. Rusk earned a spot on the league’s All-Freshman Team.

Roberts, a junior from Missoula, played in 25 contests before suffering a season-ending knee injury. She led the team in nine statistical categories overall, including points and rebounds.

It is the second time Legerski has been tabbed Coach of the Year. The 14th-year coach also received the award in 2003-04. He helped lead the Cowgirls to a 20-plus win season for the eighth time in his career and a program-best 13 conference victories.

The Cowgirls begin play in the league tourney on Tuesday against the winner of the Fresno State/Nevada game at 7 p.m. at the Thomas & Mack Center.
