Benson Koech of Rocky Mountain College won the men's race at the Montana State Billings Yellowjacket Invitational at Riverfront Park on Saturday.
Koech covered the four-mile course in 19:30, winning by 14 seconds over Jonah Theisen of Black Hills State. Theisen is the reigning NCAA Division II steeplechase champion.
Ida Narbuvoll of the University of Mary won the women's 5k race in 17:20.
The Marauders had a 1-2-4-5-6-10-13 finish to easily win the women's team title. Black Hills State had six runners in the top six 11 to take the men's crown.
Garrett Love paced the MSUB men with a fifth-place finish. He was followed by Jorey Egeland (9th), Josh Panasuk (12th), Mark Hovland (21st), Ronald Venema (22nd) and Ivan Colmenero (33rd).
Rio Frame was 11th for the Yellowjacket women. Following Frame was Nikki Aiken (18th), Bailey Bomar (23rd), Lydia Foster (28th) and Catrina Schuchard (31st).
Fred Petsch was 13th for Rocky, followed by Isaac Petsch (17th), Bryce Hugs (34th) and Shane Ketchum (35th).
Courtney Hallock placed 15th for the Rocky women with teammates Cassidy Rude (20th), Corinne Hamilton (32nd), Jaylen Henderson (35th) and Stephanie Wilson (36th) also scoring.
