TACOMA, Wash. -- Matt Wehr, a standout swimmer for Billings Central and the Billings Aquatic Club team, has committed to join the men's swim team at Pacific Lutheran University in the fall.

Wehr helped Central to four consecutive Class A team titles during his high school career, and this winter was the leader of the Ram boys squad that became the first-ever Class A team to win the overall team title at the state meet.

He is a two-time state champion in the 100-yard butterfly and this year also won the 200-yard individual medley. With the Stingrays, Wehr recently set the state record in the 200 butterfly at the Montana State Short Course meet.

He plans to study pre-med at PLU.

Pacific Lutheran University is a NCAA Division II school. The swim team is a member of the Northwest Swim Conference.
