ANACONDA - The Amateurs built a 20-16 lead over the Professionals Tuesday after the first day of play at the 25th annual Montana Cup.

The competition will conclude today at Old Works with the individual matches.

Tuesday's matches involved four ball and Chapman play.

Kelbi Lee of Billings, Butte's Jon Johnstone and Marcus Williams of Missoula led the way for the Amateurs.

Eddie Kavran, head pro at The Hilands in Billings, was part of two wins for the pros.

The amateurs lead the series 12-10-2.

The competition is sponsored by the Montana State Golf Association. The winner receives the Dave McNally Trophy.
