Anaconda will move to Class B for athletics starting in the fall of 2015, the district’s Board of Trustees voted this week. The board voted 6 to 1 to join the smaller classification based on enrollment numbers and a recommendation from the Montana High School Association.
Class A schools are those with an enrollment between 825 and 340 students, according to MHSA executive director Mark Beckman, while Class B is from 339 to 120. Beckman said a two-year average enrollment is used to determine classifications. Anaconda's two-year average was 326.5 students, according to Beckman.
