HELENA -- Lee Stiffarm of Billings has been selected by Superintendent of Public Instruction Denise Juneau to serve as her appointee to the MHSA Executive Board.
Stiffarm is a registered nurse currently serving the students of Billings Public Schools. She will fill a four-year term as one of seven MHSA board members.
The MHSA Executive Board consists of four elected members, one from each classification, and three appointed members representing the Governor's Office, the Office of Public Instruction and the Montana School Boards Association.
"I am pleased to appoint Lee Stiffarm to the Executive Board," said Juneau. "Lee was a high school athlete and is now a supportive parent of her three children and their extracurricular activities. As an athlete, parent and school nurse, Lee will bring a well-rounded perspective to this board."
Dr. Doug Reisig, Superintendent of Hellgate Elementary in Missoula, is the current OPI representative and will complete his term in April. Stiffarm will begin her appointment at the April 2011 meeting of the Executive Board and continue through April 2015.
