What was a hope among long-time friends became reality when Jeremiah Cochran of Billings West and Billings Senior’s Quinn Abdallah signed national letters of intent to play basketball next year for Wenatchee Valley Community College in Washington.
“We always talked about going somewhere together,” said Abdallah. “We never thought it would actually happen.”
The two have been friends since second grade.
Cochran, a 6-foot-5 forward, averaged 6.6 points and 6.8 rebounds a game for West.
“I really liked the system there,” he said of Wenatchee. “I felt it would be a good spot for me to learn and progress as a player. In my future, I’d like to play for a four-year school.”
Abdallah, a 6-2 guard, averaged five points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.2 assists a game this past season for the Broncs.
“I actually just tagged along with Jeremiah when he went up there,” Abdallah said. “The coach didn’t even know who I was. I went through the workouts and after two days, they offered.”
The two Billings players will join Aaron Ward of Florence, who was selected the Freshman of the Year for the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges.
