Manhattan Tigers

Record last year: 5-15

Coach: Mikel Jones (2nd season at Manhattan, 5-15)

Returning starters: Lexi Oldenburger, Sr., guard; Shaleigh VanDyke, Sr., guard; Taeler Rodriguez, Sr., forward; Stephanie Baldry, Jr., guard.

Other key players: Carlee Smith, So, forward-center; Melody McCloud, So., forward.

Coach Jones says: “The mix of our solid returning players and younger talent should make for an exciting season. I expect to see us improve tremendously throughout the season.’’

Three Forks Wolves

Record last year: 15-7

Coach: Jeff Bellach (2nd year at Three Forks, 15-7)

Returning starters: Allie Sauvageau, 5-8, Sr., guard; Cierra Myers, 5-8, Sr., forward; Shayla Mack, 5-3, So., guard; Virginia Trent, 5-9, Sr., forward; Haylee Folkvord, 5-1, Jr., guard.

Other key players: Liz Samson, 5-5, Sr., guard; Dani Diefenderfer, 5-10, Jr., forward; Ashley Malmquist, 5-7, So., forward; Jordan Hamilton, 5-11, So., forward.

Noteworthy: Sauvageau and Myers were second-team all-conference performers.

Coach Bellach says: “We should have a lot of speed and quickness. Also, we have some girls who can shoot very well. We have a lot of experience coming back from last season as well. We want to be able to control the tempo with our defense. We will be undersized in almost every match up. We must be able to rebound effectively against bigger opponents.’’

Townsend Bulldogs

Record last year: 10-10

Coach: John Peterson (10th year at Townsend, 155-54)

Returning starters: Gaelyn Domino, Sr.,guard; Lynsie Williams, Sr., guard; Jordan Audet, Sr., forward.

Other key players: Taylore Dinsdale, Sr., center-forward; Dani Doane, Sr., center; Meagan Watson, So, center-forward; Emily Wilbur, So., center; Taijah Peterson, Fr., guard; Baylee Watson, Fr., center; Annie Anderson, Fr, center-forward; Breanne Watson, Jr., center; Katie Anderson, Jr. guard.

Coach Peterson says: “We are going to have to make up for our lack of experience on the job. I have no doubt that our group of ladies can do just that.’’

Whitehall Trojans

Record last year: 21-7 (3rd at state)

Coach: Kerry Sacry (7th year at Whitehall)

Returning starters: Kellee Glaus, 5-9, sr., guard; Amanda Reed, 5-10, Jr., center; Kristie Baker, 5-9, Sr., forward.

Other key players: Ashley Todd, 5-4, So., guard; Kim Henderson, 5-6, So., guard

Noteworthy: Glaus won the state triple jump and long jump titles last spring.

Coach Sacry says: “We have quite a bit of experience with our returning players. We have good athletes who play well together. I think we will do all right.’’
