Jared Samuelson of Billings West and Kendal Manuel of Billings Skyview were named to USA Today’s 2013-14 All-USA Montana boys basketball team.

The two Billings juniors are joined by fellow underclassmen Tres Tinkle (Missoula Hellgate), Brendan Howard (Great Falls) and Dane Warp (Havre) on the first team. Tinkle was named the state’s player of the year.

The second team was made up of five seniors: Kooper Kidgell (Billings Senior), Evan Epperly (Kalispell Glacier), Troy Scott (Dillon), Oliver Carr (Bozeman) and Carson Dummer (Helena Capital).

Capital coach Guy Almquist was named coach of the year after guiding the Bruins to the Class AA state title.

For the girls, Fairfield’s Dustin Gordon won coach of the year honors after the Eagles won their fourth consecutive Class B state championship.

Olivia Roberts of Missoula Sentinel was named the girls player of the year. She helped lead the Spartans to their third straight state title. Teammate Maddie Keast was also a first-team All-USA selection.

The Sentinel duo is joined by Michaela Dowdy (Capital), Jill Barta (Fairfield) and Cassi Hashley (Glacier).

Senior’s Jace Henderson was named to the second team, along with Taylor Goligoski (Hamilton), McKenzie Johnston (Capital), Katie Fertterer (Belt) and Averie Collins (Bozeman).
