Makena Morley of Bigfork has been named the Montana Gatorade girls cross country runner of the year for the third time.
Morley won her third consecutive Class B individual state championship this past fall with a meet-record time of 16:35. The junior also qualified for the National Foot Locker Cross Country Championships in San Diego, Calif., placing eighth with a time of 17:43 to earn All-America honors.
She also won the Foot Locker West Region title, and placed second at the Nike Cross Nationals Northwest Regional.
Morley maintains a 4.0 grade point average.
“She is the best female runner in Montana,” said Kalispell Flathead coach Paul Jorgensen.
