Not only is tonight's AA playoff game the first in the short history of Kalispell Glacier, it's also the first meeting between the Wolfpack and Skyview.

In the three-year existence of Glacier's program, the only other school it hasn't faced is Billings West - a fact that makes this matchup all the more intriguing.

"You have film of them against common opponents, but you never really know how you're going to match up with them,'' said Skyview coach Ron Lebsock. "You just have to play your game the best you can.''

The Falcons game has usually featured a powerful running attack and that really hasn't changed much. The passing game, however, has been incorporated more into the offense this year which has given the Falcons a more balanced look.

Quarterback Connor Lebsock has had a good junior season, running for 459 yards and passing for 1,155 more. He's completed 79 of 143 passes for 13 touchdowns. Jake O'Brien is the top receiver with eight touchdowns among his 24 receptions. Running backs Carson Hilliard (882 yards) and Casey Bigelow (460) have been effective, and that concerns Glacier coach Grady Bennett.

"Coach Lebsock is a great football coach. He does a great job with that offensive line,'' Bennett said. "They execute so well and get off the ball and don't make mistakes. Connor Lebsock does a nice job. We're going to have to execute on defense.''

Glacier is led by Shay Smithwick-Hann, a three-year starter at quarterback. The 6-foot-4 senior has thrown for 1,783 yards and nine touchdowns. He's also become a major running threat, gaining 670 yards and scoring 11 TDs.

Running backs Taylor Hart (498 yards, 16 TDs) and Wiley Fusaro (513, 4 TDs) complement Hann in the running game. Bryan Chery leads the receiving corps with 40 catches and four touchdowns.

"They're a lot like Bozeman,'' Lebsock said. "They have a quarterback who can run and throw. They're more balanced than anybody we've played.''

Glacier averages 183.2 yards rushing and 181.1 passing. The Falcons' marks are 217.7 and 115.5. The Wolfpack is outscoring its opponents by 11.3 points a game compared the Falcons' 6.6.

The teams have played eight common opponents. The biggest differences came against Helena and Missoula Sentinel. The Falcons beat Helena 22-6, but the Bengals beat the Wolfpack 21-13. Sentinel, however, defeated Skyview 17-6 and lost to Glacier 24-17.

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Wendy's Field at Daylis Stadium.
