LAVINA -- Senior quarterback Christian Hanser ran for four touchdowns -- including the game-winner in overtime -- as Broadview-Lavina fought off Culbertson-Bainville 36-30 Saturday in the opening round of the State C football playoffs.

Hanser had scoring dashes of 30, 24 and 69 yards during regulation play. His final TD run in OT lifted the Pirates (8-1) into next weekend's quarterfinals against Superior (8-1).

Hanser's brother Nathan, a junior, also had a 10-yard scoring run against Culbertson-Bainville, which ended its season at 5-4.

The Cowboys led 22-16 going into the fourth quarter. They received rushing TDs from Justin Larsen, Shayne Cochran, Evan Willcoxon and Colton Zahn.

ENNIS -- Dalton Bullock passed for two touchdowns and ran for another in Ennis' 52-6 win over Circle Saturday in the first round of the Class C playoffs.

Bullock finished 12 of 17 pass from 271 yards. Teammate Roy Moen added 120 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries.

Lee Delp ran for 77 yards and a touchdown for Circle (3-5).

CHARLO -- Tra Ludeman was 16 of 19 passing for 156 yards and four touchdowns while running for 192 yards and two more as the Vikings stormed past Great Falls Central 72-31 in the first round of the Class C playoffs on Saturday.

Jacen Petersen ran for 92 yards on 10 carries and scored two touchdowns. He also caught an eight-yard touchdown pass and led the Vikings defense with 13 tackles.

Charlo used a 56-18 burst in the second and third quarters combined to blow open an 8-7 first quarter lead.

Charlo (9-1) will play at Ennis in the quarterfinals on Saturday.

WIBAUX -- Quarterback Jacob Bakken rushed for three touchdowns and passed for another to help Wibaux run past White Sulphur Springs 67-26 Saturday in the first round of the Class C playoffs.

The Longhorns (8-1) will host Drummond this Saturday in the second round.

Bakken had scoring runs of 5, 36 and 34 yards and also threw a 45-yard touchdown pass to Lane Davis. Bakken finished with 127 yards on 10 carries. He was also 9 of 13 passing for 152  yards.

Chase Bertelsen had touchdown runs of 4, 10, 15 and 2 yards for Wibaux.

Jory Fisher caught two touchdown passes for the Hornets (5-4) and also returned a kick-off for a score.

CHINOOK -- Zach Molyneaux ran for three touchdowns and Rob Klingaman added two more as the Sugarbeeters used a big first half to hold on for a  36-24 first-round Class C playoff victory over Victor on Saturday.

Molyneaux scored on runs of nine and six yards in the first half while Klingaman added scoring bursts of one yard and 32-yards as the second-seed out of the Northern Division raced out to a 30-12 lead at halftime.

Chinook will travel to Fairview on Saturday in the Class C quarterfinals.

SUPERIOR -- Bobcat quarterback Billy Smith accounted for over 400 yards of total offense as sixth-ranked Superior routed Centerville in the first-round of the Class C football playoffs on Saturday, 66-20.

Smith threw for 320 yards and five touchdowns while also running for 106 and two more scores as Superior built a 38-20 halftime edge.

However, Smith wasn't the only Bobcat to turn in a big day. Adam Kay hauled in seven of Smiths' passes for 242 yards and four touchdowns -- all of which were over 35 yards -- in the win.

Superior picked off Centerville quarterback Kole Chartier four times in the second half as they shutout the Miners 28-0 over the games final 24 minutes.

FAIRVIEW-- Cody Vitt accounted for five of the seven Warrior touchdowns as top-ranked Fairview surged past Twin Bridges, 48-28, in the first round of the Class C 8-man Playoffs on Saturday afternoon in Fairview.

The opening-round tilt was a rematch of last year's state championship game, which Twin Bridges won 44-28 in Fairview.

Vitt chewed up 130 yards on the ground on 23 carries, scoring four times. The senior running back also hauled in a pair of passes -- including one for a 65 yard score -- for 103 yards.

Logan Kjos recorded two and a half sacks while Jordan Dahle recorded 15 total stops on defense for the Warriors, who will host Chinook on Saturday in the second-round.

CHESTER -- Mack Bignell ran for five touchdowns and passed for two more Saturday as the Drummond Trojans shocked previously unbeaten Chester-Joplin-Inverness 52-14 in the first round of the Class C football playoffs.

Bignell passed for 135 yards, completing both TDs to Danny Mannix, then ran for 188 yards in knocking off the top-ranked Hawks. C-J-I scored the first 14, and Drummond answered with the final 52.

Drummond (7-2) will travel to Wibaux in the quarterfinals next Saturday. CJI, who got rushing scores for Dustin Romains and Jordan Oraw, finished its year at 9-1.
