HIGHWOOD -- Kier Sanzano of Alberton-St. Regis rushed for 114 yards and four touchdowns and the Red team defeated the Blue team 68-42 in the 18th annual 6-Man all-star football game on Saturday.

Sanzano scored on runs of 1, 55, 23 and 26 yards to prop up the Red All-Stars, who were made up of players from the North and West divisions. Adam Metcalfe of Denton-Geyser Stanford caught an 8-yard pass from Valier’s Cooper Hawke to put the red team ahead in the opening quarter.

Teammate Jarod White of Hot Springs answered that with a 72-yard punt return and the Red team held a 14-0 lead.

The Blue team, made up of players from the South and the East, scored its first touchdown on a 30-yard run by Savage’s Jordan Skaley late in the second quarter. Skaley was named his team’s offensive MVP, finishing with 142 yards rushing and a pair of touchdowns, and 42 receiving yards and another TD.

The defensive MVP for the Blue All-Stars was Christian Prevost of Richey-Lambert, who had eight solo tackles.

The Red team’s MVP’s were Denton-Stanford-Geyser’s Chase Hill (offense), who had 45 yards rushing and converted several key fourth downs, and North Star’s Cooper Spicher (defense), who had six tackles and an interception.
