BUTTE -- Kevin Oberweiser accounted for three touchdowns and the Red All-Stars ran away with a 72-42 victory over the Blue All-Stars in the 31st Bob Cleverley 8-Man all-star football game Saturday at Montana Tech.
Drummond’s Oberweiser scored on a 1-yard run in the first quarter to give the Red team the lead for good. He later threw a 13-yard touchdown pass to Victor’s Nate Bishop in the second quarter, and added a 67-yard scoring pass to Bishop in the third.
Culbertson-Bainville’s Shayne Cochran started the scoring for the Red with a 51-yard run in the opening quarter. He also had a 15-yard TD scamper in the fourth. Cochran led everyone with 89 rushing yards on just seven carries.
The Blue team was led by Zeboriah Bloom of Simms, who threw a pair of TDs, one a 32-yarder to Isaiah Dunk of Power-Dutton-Brady in the first quarter, and another a 28-yarder to Broadview-Lavina’s Ian Glennie in the second.
The longest play of the day was Belt’s Holden Maki hitting Absarokee’s Braden Collins for an 81-yard touchdown for the Blue team in the second quarter. Maki finished with a game-high 290 yards passing.
The Blue team was made up of players from the Northern and Southern divisions, while the Red team consisted of players from the West and the East.
