FAIRMONT HOT SPRINGS -- Butte's Hailey Hoagland held on to her first-round lead and Missoula Hellgate's Pat Colberg fired a second-round 68 at Fairmont Hot Springs Golf Course to earn medalist honors at the Butte Invitational on Friday.
Butte's girls and Bozeman's boys took home the team titles.
Billings West's boys tied for third with Senior, six stroke back of Bozeman, while Senior's girls finished second and West's girls fourth.
Austin Berg of West finished with a 147, three shots behind Colberg, which was good enough for third place. Also in the top 10 were Senior's Sean Benson (148, fourth) and Skyview's Payton Stott (152, seventh).
Senior's Kortney McNeil fired twin 79s and was three shots behind Hoagland. That was still good enough for second place, and other top 10 finishers from Billings included Senior's Sammy Walter (169, seventh) and West's Hayden Flohr (172, ninth).
Colberg trailed first-round leader Scott Redelsperger of Bozeman by five strokes after Thursday's first round. But Colberg blistered the course in the second round and finished two shots in front of Great Falls' Cody Babinecz, who shot 75 and 71.
McNeil has made a habit of making second-day runs, but Hoagland didn't give the Broncs junior a chance. After shooting 78 on Thursday to lead McNeil by one stroke, Hoagland was two shots better on Friday, dropping her score to 77.
