CHICAGO -- For the second straight year, pitcher Morgan Ray has been selected the Gatorade Montana Softball Player of the Year.

Ray, a junior, helped Frenchtown win its second straight Class A state title last weekend. A 5-10 right-handed pitcher, she was 23-1 with a 0.72 ERA. She struck out 280 batters and walked just 28 in 145 innings.

Ray had 10 no-hitters, including one perfect game and held opponents to a .114 batting average. At the plate, she hit .598 with 12 home runs, 54 RBIs and a 1.253 slugging percentage.

Ray has already made a verbal commitment to play for Ohio State in the fall of 2015.
