HARDIN -- Laurel pounded out 20 hits -- and survived eight errors -- in holding off Hardin 22-15 on Tuesday afternoon in Eastern A softball.

The Locomotives, who scored 10 runs in the sixth inning, jumped ahead 8-0 in the second inning. The Bulldogs got within 9-7 before Laurel's sixth-inning outburst.

Katie Williams accounted for four hits for Laurel, including a home run and three runs batted in. Ayla Grandpre also had four hits and three RBI.

Teammate Hailey Spitzer added three hits, with a home run, double and three RBI.

Laurel's Brianne Jones chipped in with three hits. Kylee Hergenrider had two, including a double.

Hardin's Kourtney Chavez supplied three of the Bulldogs' 12 hits. Sarah Edgar, Miranda Blankenship, Amber Schneider and Alex Watson notched two hits apiece.

The Bulldogs also committed eight errors.
