BOZEMAN -- Freshman Mackenzie Mayhood went 5 for 6 from the plate and drove in three runs and Billings West's offense erupted for 18 hits in a 16-6 victory over Bozeman on Thursday in Eastern AA girls softball.

Mayhood had a double and triple among her five hits. Kendyl Boltz batted 2 for 2 for the Bears with a home run and two RBIs. Makenzie Shellnutt also plated two runs for West.

Lexi Mayhood, Shellnutt, Rachael Dillon, Jalen Creech, Maranda Ratcliff and Boltz each had two hits for the winners.

West hosts Skyview Friday at Poly-Vista at 5 p.m.
