Scott Sparks announced his resignation as the athletic director at Denton High School after 10 years on the job on Sunday.

Sparks, who will continue to coach the Denton-Geyser-Stanford football and boys basketball teams, cited the need to spend more time with his family as one of the primary reasons for his resignation. Sparks and his wife Bridget have four children; the oldest is 8 years old and the youngest turns 1 in September.

Mike Jones will take over as Denton’s new athletic director. Jones, a Power graduate, is a second-year teacher at Denton.

Sparks plans to continue his roles as an officer within District 8C and the Northern C division. Sparks will also continue as the head coach of the Lewistown Legion baseball team.
