STANFORD, Calif. -- Dawson LaRance of Billings Senior took first place Saturday in the boys 800-meter run at the 42nd Stanford Invitational track and field meet.
LaRance, a senior who has committed to run for the University of Minnesota in the fall, had a time of 1:53.10. Out of 30 competitors in three sections, he was the only runner to break 1:54.
LaRance finished fifth at the Class AA state cross country meet in November. He plans to run cross country at Minnesota but told The Gazette in November his focus will be the 400 and 800.
