GREAT FALLS — Justin Gibson of Kalispell Glacier, Parker Filius of Havre and Dawson Peterman of Fairfield were the winners of the Blewett Wrestling Scholarship.
For the eleventh year in a row, Alexander (Zander) Blewett, III, a trial lawyer from the personal injury law firm of Hoyt & Blewett PLLC in Great Falls, awarded three $1,000 scholarships to the top student-wrestlers in Montana for Classes AA, A, and B-C.
The scholarships are awarded to the top wrestler from each school classification who has displayed the best combined qualities of wrestling and academic achievement.
Filius was a four-time state champion and earned a 3.93 GPA and obtained a 30 on his ACT. Filius will attend Purdue University where he will wrestle and study civil engineering. Gibson was a state champion in 2017 and earned a 4.0 GPA. Gibson will attend the University of Great Falls, where he will wrestle and study chemistry. Peterman was a three-time placer and achieved a 3.93 GPA. Peterman will attend Montana State University, where he will study engineering.
