GREAT FALLS -- Jarren Komac, a two-time State AA champion wrestler from Great Falls High, has signed a letter of intent to compete for the University of Great Falls in the 2015-16 season.
As a junior competing at 113 pounds, Komac claimed his second championship last year. As a sophomore, he was first at 105. As a freshman, Komac was third at 98.
Komac is the son of Bison coach Steve Komac and will be a senior this season. Overall, Komac's high school record is 102-15 with 63 pins. The Bison are the two-time defending State AA champions.
"To sign Jarren early and keep him in town is a huge recruiting coup for us," UGF coach Caleb Schaeffer said. "Along with his wrestling ability, Jarren excels in the classroom. He is exactly the type of student-athlete we are trying to bring to UGF. He is a competitor and refuses to lose in everything he does in his life. This quality is one of many reasons why we are excited about having him on our team."
