A team of Montana high school and middle school wrestlers toured Japan this summer, posting a 2-2 dual record.

Forsyth's Michael Weber was the team MVP as he was the only Montana wrestler to go undefeated.

"From the moment we approached the runway in Japan, the landscape was breathtaking. The people we met at the airport, to our hosts and everyone in-between was very kind, understanding and patient," said Montana coach Mike Stokes in a press release. "As coaches, we were very pleased with the Montana wrestlers. Team Montana was 2-2 in the duals, which is great considering the USA wrestlers do not wrestle as much freestyle and Greco. Montana beat the teams from Tokushima, Japan, and Ehime, Japan. We then ran into a powerful team from Kochi, Japan. Our final dual match was against an elite team from Kagawa, Japan."

Team Montana consisted of: Cameron Pleninger, Havre; Matthew DeWitt, Laurel; Calvin Musick, Glendive; Martin Wilkie, Havre; Jackson Currier, Colstrip; Michael Weber, Forsyth; Daniel Bishop, Ronan; Stormee Kipp, Missoula; Nakoda Siegel, Colstrip; Nicholas Langer, Battle Ground, Washington; Adrian Ramirez, Hood River, Oregon. Lanny Bryant of Missoula was the Team Leader, while Codey Currier of Colstrip and Mike Stokes of Billings were coaches.
