Wyoming coaches receive national honors

Cliff Hill of Campbell County High School in Gillette, Wyo., was named athletic director of the year by the National High School Athletic Coaches Association. 

Two coaches from the Cowboy State were also honored by the NHSACA. Terry Berg of Lander, Wyo., earned golf coach of the year honors, while Steve Mischke of Gillette, Wyo., was named assistant boys coach of the year. 

Other Wyoming candidates that were finalists for coach of the year included: Tom Seamans, Campbell County, wrestling; Mitch Holst, Campbell County, girls basketball; Tim Gonzales, Mountain View, girls assistant; Rich Murray, Lusk, boys basketball; Rick Bishop, Cheyenne Central, cross country; Jeff Brazil, Jackson, cross country; Paul Kinner, Casper Natrona, soccer; Rick Stonehouse, Cody, skiing; Mark Miller, Cheyenne Central, swimming; Mark Kelting, Gillette, track and field; Glenn Freeburg, Guernsey, volleyball.

The coaches were nominated by the Wyoming Coaches Association and then were selected as the Region 7 representative.
