Montana Simulcast Racing has eight locations across the state where it will be possible to wager and watch Saturday’s Kentucky Derby.
The simulcast sites in Billings are the two Won $800 Casinos in Billings, located at the corner of Broadwater and 24th Street and near Geyser Park at 4907 Southgate Drive.
The full 20-horse Derby will include Frac Daddy, owned by Carter Stewart and Ken Schlenker of Billings. Post time is around 4:24 p.m. (Mountain time).
Frac Daddy will start from the outside No. 18 post position. His odds of winning are 50-1.
The other simulcast sites in the state include: M&M Cigar Store in Butte, Halftime Sports Bar in Great Falls, Bull’s Eye Casino in Helena, Scotty’s Bar & Steakhouse in Kalispell, Golden Spur Casino in Miles City and Katie O’Keefe’s Casino in Missoula.
A percentage of the state’s simulcast handle from the Derby will go toward supporting the live meets in Montana.
Tom Tucker, executive secretary of the Montana Board of Horse Racing, said having a Billings-owned horse in the race will help to generate additional interest in the Derby across the state.
“It is exciting and a shot in the arm for the industry in Montana,” he said. “You can’t beat a nationally televised event when it comes to getting people interested in racing.”
