Twenty-seven junior golfers from the Billings area qualified for state on Monday during the District 4 qualifier held on the Elmer Link Course at Pryor Creek Golf Club in Huntley.

The 36-hole state tournament, put on by the Montana State Golf Association, will be held on Monday and Tuesday at Laurel Golf Club.

Besides crowning state champions in three age groups for the boys and girls, the results will also be used to determine the state's Junior America's Cup and Montana/Alberta Junior Ryder Cup teams.

District 4 state qualifiers included Sean Benson, Payton Stott, Joey Moore, Kortney McNeil and Hannah Zwemke, who received automatic berths based on past performances at state or with the America's Cup or Montana/Alberta Cup teams, said Tom Caudle, district representative with the MSGA.
