Double Nickel Scratch Bowling Assoc.

Jim Blakeley defeated Keith Loran 243-215 in the championship match of the Double Nickel Scratch Bowling Association tourney Sunday at Town and Country Lanes.

With the win, Blakeley took home $249 plus a $75 gift certificate. Loran earned $211, plus a $50 gift certificate.

The top qualifier was Loran with a 927 for four games. The high game was posted by Dave Winslow, with a 280 in qualifying.

There were 40 bowlers who competed from Montana, Wyoming and North Dakota.

The order of finish follows (bowlers with no hometown listed are from Billings): Blakeley (Roberts), Loran, John Whitaker (Roundup), Ken Carcich (Sheridan, Wyo.), Winslow, Chester Gilliam (Lovell, Wyo.), Ron Engelhardt, Fred Kunz (Cody, Wyo.), Kerry Baker, Ron Schmidt (Lovell, Wyo.), Archie Caraveau (Forsyth), Tom Shea, Ed Sauer, Duane Kostelecky, Clay Buttman, John Lafko (Lovell, Wyo.), Les Comer (Dillon), Cliff Karagosis (Bozeman), Joel Baker, Jim Hill, Terry Vandercook (Park City), Ralph Mitchell (Park City), Ron Frank (Worden), Duck Hultgren (Huntley), Stu Summers, Milt Sausedo (Forsyth), Russ Penkal (Bozeman), Bruce Pelzel, Bryan Steele, Randy Gerhardt (Nye), Bert Stiles (Broadview) and Izzy Kadrmas (Livingston).
