Cliff Pickens aced the 130-yard No. 4 at Pryor Creek with a 9-iron. Witnesses: Cliff Shell, Sunny Westermon, Thermon Spomer, Bill Goben.

Dave Crosmer aced the 146-yard No. 17 on Pryor Creek’s John Walker course with a 5-hybrid. Witnesses: Bob Mayes, Lee Ash, RJ Keller.

Pepsi Gallatin Valley Open

Cottonwood Hills Golf Club in Bozeman will be hosting the Pepsi Gallatin Valley Open Sept. 6-7.

This year’s event will have a pro purse of $12,000 and amateurs will play for more than $8,000 in prizes.

The event is a PGA sanctioned event and professionals can enter through the Rocky Mountain Section of the PGA.

Amateurs must have a USGA index of 12.0 or lower to enter. The Montana Golf Association also gives points to the best amateurs for future Montana State team events.

Entries will close when the field reaches 123 players. The amateur deadline is Sept. 5 and the professional deadline is Sept. 3. For information, call the Cottonwood Hills pro shop at 406-587-1118.
