UNIONDALE, N.Y. — Jess Lockwood, who last weekend won his Professional Bull Riders BFTS-leading fourth event of the season in Austin, Texas, is out for at least a month with injuries sustained in an event here Saturday.

According to an article on the PBR website, Lockwood broke four ribs, punctured a lung and lacerated a kidney in round one of the PBR's Buck Off the Island Built Ford Tough Series stop. Lockwood, 19, was estimated to be out at least four weeks the article said.

The Volborg bull rider bolted to No. 2 in the PBR world standings after his win in Austin. The 2016 PBR Rookie of the Year is now at No. 3 in the world standings. He has won $320,092 this season. 

The next event on the premier bull riding circuit in the world is Sept. 30-Oct. 1 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Columbia Falls bull rider Matt Triplett is questionable for the event with a left-shoulder injury, according to www.pbr.com. The injury occurred in round two in Uniondale. Triplett is ranked 10th in the world standings.
