Big Sky State Games
Scholarship Applications being accepted
The Big Sky State Games has teamed up with Kenco Security and Technology to offer scholarships that recognize the importance of sportsmanship and character in athletics. It is open to high school juniors (during the 2017-2018 school year) who have participated in the BSSG. This allows the winners to serve as role models during their senior year. The scholarship deadline is May 11.
Scholarship applications are available at high school counselor offices statewide, at the BSSG office (490 N. 31st in Billings) or online at www.bigskygames.org.
In memory of Judy Martz, former BSSG board member, Olympic athlete, and former Montana Governor, a fifth scholarship will be distributed this year. All five scholarships are for $500. The scholarships will be awarded to Montana student athletes who best exemplify character in athletics, community and school. The scholarships can be used for any secondary education after high school; this also includes trade schools and community colleges. Scholarship winners will be honored at the 33rd Annual Big Sky State Games Opening Ceremonies July 20 at Wendy's Field at Daylis Stadium.
