RED LODGE -- Members of the Silver Run Ski Club of Red Lodge had a strong showing in the 5th annual Stano Cup ski race last weekend at Red Lodge Mountain.

The event, which was hosted by the Silver Run Ski Education Foundation, is held in memory of Stanley “Stano” Bustos, a long time Silver Run supporter who passed away in 2007.

A total of 29 women and 52 men from ages 16-23 competed in the giant slalom and slalom events. Racers represented teams from Silver Run, Whitefish, Bridger Bowl, Great Divide, Lost Trail, Missoula and Black Tail; as well as college teams from Rocky Mountain College, Montana State and Montana.

Kelley placed second overall in the Sunday giant slalom, and 5th overall in the Monday giant slalom. Other skiers for the Silver Run girls were Alison Kelleher, Sara Hulbert, Kelsey Schmidt, and Isabelle Sobiech.
