Aragon loses split decision

Billings pro boxer Ben Aragon lost a four-round bout by decision to Ottu Holifield Friday in Cicero, Ill., at Cicero Stadium.

Aragon weighs 160 pounds and is 4-2-1 with four knockouts. Holifield, from Chicago, is 4-0 with no knockouts.

Billings Kickoff Tournament

The Billings Softball Association will hold its 2005 Kickoff Tournament April 30-May 1 at Stewart Park.

Men's and women's upper, middle and lower divisions will be held. Out-of-town and out-of-state teams are welcome.

Entry fee is $140 per team with a three-game guarantee. Entry deadline is 5 p.m. Thursday, April 28.

To register, call 406-255-6760 (voice mail box) and leave your team name, division, name and number of team contact person.


Billings Junior U-14 Volleyball Club

The Billings Junior Volleyball Club U-14 team finished first in pool play at an AAU tournament in Gillette, Wyo., Saturday.

The team went 5-1 in pool play.

In the gold medal championship round, they were eliminated by Newcastle, Wyo., by the score of 25-18, 17-25, 15-8. The Billings U-14 team finished fifth out of 24 teams.
