Recipe for: Homemade Pumpkin Pie
1 Medium Pumpkin
1 Cup Heavy Whipping Cream*
1 Cup Milk*
*(or 2 cups Half/Half)
½ Teaspoon Ginger
½ Teaspoon Cinnamon
1 Teaspoon Salt
½ Cup Brown Sugar
½ Cup White Sugar
3 Eggs + 1 Yolk

1. Clean out pumpkin and wash outside/inside.
2. Place pumpkin (uncut) in 9 x 13 pan with 1-2 “ water.

3. Bake pumpkin at 325 degrees until cooked.
4. Cool pumpkin, scrape and blend if needed.
5. Cook the seeds with a bit of salt 400 degrees (for an extra treat).
6. Mix all ingredients and pour into prepared pie crust.
7. Bake 425 degrees for 10 minutes and 350 degrees for
45-55 minutes or until brown.
This recipe takes a bit longer but is well worth the effort and
a true taste of history/pumpkin. Plus, it is an extra treat when
the process is shared with children/grandchildren. Enjoy!
