Central Avenue just got much more convenient.
Enmeshing contemporary flair with everyday accessibility, Billings' newest Cenex Zip Tip offers modern-day amenities for today's traveler.
Whether you're there to fill up, grab a cup of Joe, snag a six pack or a snack, Zip Trip is more than just a gas station-it's a well-appointed pit-stop and snack food oasis.
Located at Central and 12th St. W, this Zip Trip is one of eight local Cenex Zip Trip locations-but this new building distinguishes itself among its brothers and sisters.
"The design could potentially be the prototype for Zip Trip stores going forward," said Tom Savas, Cenex Zip Trip's regional manager for the eastern division.
Contemporary additions like a soothing spa color palette, rich wood detailing, open web trusses and LED lighting throughout transcend Zip Trip from your typical gas and go convenience store to a comfortable, friendly destination.
Just down the street a piece from a newly-constructed Albertsons store and CVS Pharmacy, Savas couldn't be more pleased with Zip Trip's location.
"It's in a good neighborhood, a growing neighborhood," Savas said, "and we hope customers enjoy the evolved look."
A nicely-stocked wine kiosk and chilled walk-in beer cave make finding the right spirit a cinch. Or, if you're in the mood for a soft drink with a little less kick, Zip Trip's soda fountain and well-appointed coffee station can quench your thirst.

"In a more competitive environment, you need modern equipment, a new facility and most importantly, to be able to offer what the customer wants," Savas said. "The convenience store industry is changing, and we want to stay ahead of that curve."
One of the designating factors to what makes a convenience store or gas station convenient is that it's accessible-day or night, rain or shine.
Zip Trip is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and provides customers with access to eight fueling stations-all of which are equipped with an intercom system.
LED lighting on the exterior of the building and fueling canopy create just the right amount of light during evening hours. A rich, brick exterior creates sharp, clean lines.
Inside, open-web trusses, exposed spiral duct-work and hanging metal pendants further enhance the building's contemporary, industrial look.
In addition to modern flair and design, one other eye-appealing benefit is lower-level shelving. This allows customers to see from the front to the back of the store with ease, a benefit to the speedy shopper searching for last-minute items or moms searching for their kids in the candy aisle.
The store's island cashier stand also creates an open, inviting sentiment for customers.
"We've had great feedback on the store so far and hope to continue providing excellent customer service to our customers," Savas said.
